Beatrice Long


Beatrice Long has gained a reputation as one of the leading performers of her generation. For more than two decades, her recitals and concerts have received international acclaim. Very much at home on the concert stage, Beatrice Long has performed as a soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonia Estato de Mexico, National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, Taipei Symphony, Laredo Philharmonic, New Amsterdam Symphony, Jura Symphony Orchestra in France, and the Academy of West Festival Orchestra among others.

A top prize winner in several international competitions including Robert Casadesus International Piano Competition, World Piano Competition of Cincinnati and the Taipei International Piano Competition, Long's rare combination of dramatic virtuosity and eloquent musicianship has captivated audiences in Southeast Asia, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Central America and in the United States. She has appeared as recitalist in the Ravinia and Fontainebleau festivals and was invited to play in the Presidential Palace Concerts in Taiwan. Her recent performances include solo recitals at the Red Star Cultural Theatre in Hungzhou China, Summer Festival in Champagne, France, Del Valle Concert Series in San Francisco, International Piano Series in Charleston, SC. She was invited as a guest soloist with Taipei Civic Orchestra, Mountain Symphony Orchestra in Tennessee, Lyric Orchestra of New Jersey.

In addition to her concerts as soloist, Beatrice enjoys a versatile career as a chamber musician and a recording artist. Her playing has been broadcast on National Public Radio, and Radio France among others. Her disc of the Scriabin Mazurkas on Naxos was praised in the American Record Guide as "impressive on many levels". As a chamber musician, Beatrice has worked closely with Ruggiero Ricci, Felix Galimir, and Misha Schneider. Currently she serves as an artistic director for the 'Classical at the Circle' Concert Series at the Watchung Arts Center, NJ, bringing innovative programs to the community. Beatrice received 'The Most Promising Piano Student Award' from the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and the Graagy Scholarship from the Peabody Conservatory. Her teachers include Mieczyslaw Horszowski, Leon Fleisher, Enrique Graf and Fou Ts'ong.
