Ani Kalayjian


Cellist Ani Kalayjian has appeared in concert both as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Recent concerts include appearances at Steinway Hall, France and Apeldoorn, Holland. Ms. Kalayjian recently made her debut at Columbia University's Miller Theatre performing Saint-Saens concerto with orchestra this past April. She was selected to participate in Michael Tilson Thomas's Aaron Copland workshop at Carnegie Hall, where she performed at Zankel and Weill Hall this past November.

Ms. Kalayjian graduated from the Mannes College of Music where she studied with Timothy Eddy. She has also studied with Orlando Cole, Aldo Parisot, and Eleonore Schoenfeld, and has participated in masterclasses with, among others, Steven Isserlis, Peter Wiley, Arto Noras, and Frans Helmerson.

Ms. Kalayjian was one of two cellists accepted into the national program of the inaugural season of David Finckel and Wu Han’s Music@Menlo. At Prussia Cove, she was featured in a BBC documentary playing in a masterclass with Steven Isserlis. Ms. Kalayjian recently performed at Weill Recital Hall in a concert titled, “Musical Armenia,” featuring Armenian and classical works, as well as chamber music concerts with Levon Chilingirian in Scotland. Upcoming engagements include concerts at Weill Recital Hall, Glendale Library, and Steinway Hall. Ms. Kalayjian has completed her masters degree and is now pursuing her postgraduate diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music as a student of Ralph Kirshbaum.
