Stand-up Comedy

Instructor: Melvin George II

An amazing chance to learn the art of stand-up comedy, joke- and story-telling from television, film, and comedy club veteran and educator Melvin George (“God’s Favorite Comedian™”). 5-session course will teach the basics of what makes people laugh, finding source material in daily life, keeping a journal, story-telling and performance based in respect and self-esteem. The class will culminate in a Stand-up Comedy Night at the Puffin and Kids will receive a CD recording of their performance. (For parents: Absolutely G-rated.)

Teaneck-resident Melvin George has opened concerts for many stars from Aretha Franklin to Chaka Khan, has appeared in films by Spike Lee and television programs on HBO and Comedy Central, and has taught at Teaneck High School and the State University of New York.

5-session course of 2-hour sessions for only $50.
Teens and Adults invited.
Advance registration a must! Fee payable at the first class.
