It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Dr. Johanna Fernández. We were privileged to have her participation and counsel as an advisory board member of the Puffin Gallery for Social Activism at the Museum of the City of New York for many years. Johanna's insights, passion, and commitment to sharing stories of activism inspired us all. She was also one of the judges for the most recent Puffin Prize for Creative Citizenship; her input was instrumental in our decisions. This New York Times piece gives a glimpse into her extraordinary life and work. Democracy Now also shared this piece in tribute. She will be greatly missed by many.
