Ecotones, Blue Ridge Series

These sculptural forms abstractly explore the overlaps of these thriving buffers, visualizing coexistence. Ecotones are the transitional zone between two ecological communities, often rich in biodiversity. The layered landscapes show interconnections between the terrain, geology, water, flora and fauna of the Blue Ridge Mountains. They were created at WildAcres Retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and inspired by the life cycles of growth, maturation, and decline that simultaneously occur to sustain an ecosystem.
