Mapping Nungua

In creating a map of the artists in a Ghanaian village we are creating a meaningful dialog between artisan and visitor. The map has a photo of the artisans and their work and a phone or email contact.
The artisan benefits by selling directly without giving a fee to a shop keeper and the visitor benefits by being able to visit the artisan in their personal space, see how the work is created and to gain a cultural awareness that the usual tourist shopping experience lacks.
African artisans trying to survive in a village will increase their income and that of the entire community by being identified and sought out by visitors.
And by meeting the artisans personally the tourists will better understand African art and culture.
