“Public Hearing” is an upcoming experimental docudrama using as its screenplay a public record transcript concerning a Wal-Mart expansion in upstate New York. Shot entirely in close-up on black-and-white 16mm film, a cast of actors and non-actors perform the transcript verbatim, investigating small-scale democracy as performance, as well as tensions between documentary fact and cinematic fiction.

Puffin Foundation funds are being used to produce an original score by musician Eugene Wasserman.
